"Joins us for one Thursday a month for a themed storytelling evening. Structured similar to the Moth Radio Hour on NPR, The Moose Story Hour is an open mic event where we invite members of our community and visitors alike to share their stories related to the rotating monthly theme. Storytelling can help us foster greater community, understanding, and friendship. Each storyteller is welcomed to the stage to share a true story from their own life that relates to the central theme of the evening.  April's theme is Spring and Renewal. Your story must be true, your own, and under five minutes. Some helpful guidelines we go over every evening at the beginning. Elaborate on the scene to help your audience visualize your story. Who’s there? Where are you? What’s happening? Was the weather a factor? Anything unique in your environment that is relevant to your story? The classic structure always works: a beginning where we meet the characters and the situation, a middle where something changes or a problem arises, and an ending where things resolve — or surprise us. MANDALA WORKSHOP SATURDAY, MAY 2,2026 LOCATION: WILDHORSE THEATRE LOBBY 9:30 am. To 12:00. Led by Barbara Flowers and Cammie Downing. Create a mandala using a variety of art materials. Mandalas are symbolic geometric figures featuring symmetrical patterns.  Mandalas have traditionally been used to promote calmness, relaxation and serenity. Cost is $15.00 to reserve your place in the class.  Class size limited to 8.

2024 AMERICANAFEST Official Showcase Artist “Official Showcase Artist: 2022 Folk Alliance International Conference” & 2022 Kerrville "New Folk Songwriting Contest Finalist" Combining the best of Americana and blues melodies with timeless Southern storytelling, award winning vocalist Stephanie Adlington and guitarist Aaron Lessard draw influence from the likes of Tom Waits and Ray LaMontagne, along with bedrock artists such as Patsy Cline and Hank Williams Sr. A Tale Of Two has opened for notable artists such as Mary Gauthier, Grayson Capps, and Peter Mulvey. Not unlike the artists who inspired them, the duo’s songs frequently dabble in stories of revenge, drinking and feature sinners of all stripes and persuasions. The Risan Project Presents: Cresta Alta A glaciological expedition-based climate science and sustainability documentary film screening + Q&A with director, producer and cinematographer, Todd Anders Johnson Wildhorse Cinema 655 Marketplace Plaza Steamboat Springs, CO 6:30pm doors + meet & greet 7:00-7:15pm Introductions from regional speakers 7:15pm Cresta Alta 8:15pm Q&A In Cresta Alta, join filmmaker, Todd Anders Johnson, on a 10 day backpacking expedition to the McCall Glacier in the Alaskan Arctic National Wildlife Refuge with Dr. Matt Nolan; setting up basecamp at the Gamma Glacier in the Olivares Basin, high in the Chilean Andes with Dr. Sebastian Mernild; trekking to Lake Pacacocha, situated at 15,000 feet in elevation, in the Peruvian Cordillera Blanca with Dr. Rachel Chisolm; joining the Icelandic Glaciological Society jeeping up the Vatnajökull ice cap to conduct ice core drilling and meeting with the President of Iceland to discuss his experiences and perspectives on climate change impacts in Iceland.
