The Moose Storytelling Series -Spring and Renewal
Some helpful guidelines we go over every evening at the beginning. Elaborate on the scene to help your audience visualize your story. Who’s there? Where are you? What’s happening? Was the weather a factor? Anything unique in your environment that is relevant to your story? The classic structure always works: a beginning where we meet the characters and the situation, a middle where something changes or a problem arises, and an ending where things resolve — or surprise us. But don’t feel constrained to a beginning, middle, and end! The best stories connect with the audience and we are here to lean in and listen to you, our storytellers. Maybe we’ve never had your exact experience, but I’m sure we’ve felt what you felt.
What do you think of in your own life when you hear the words Spring or Renewal? Everyone has a story about a fresh start or an exciting once in a life time spring break. Perhaps a story that just takes place in the spring, or at a spring. Did you have a new beginning? And exciting trip? A story about coming back to life after a time of sadness? These aren’t polished speeches —just honest moments, big or small, told from the heart. Let’s celebrate the power of personal stories to connect us all.”
