Raising Funds for Boys & Girls Club and Wildhorse Arts & Cinema

Event Overview

The Boys & Girls Club of Northwest Colorado and Prescription for the Arts proudly present Jane Monheit in Concert — an unforgettable evening of world-class jazz in support of youth mental health and creative healing.

This special performance raises funds for The Boys & Girls Club and Wildhorse Arts & Cinema’s Prescription for the Arts, an innovative program that provides mental-health-supported arts experiences for youth and individuals navigating depression, anxiety, and isolation. Through partnerships with the Boys & Girls Club of Northwest Colorado, Yampa Valley High School, and community providers, the program connects young people with professional artists for transformative one-on-one creative experiences.

Proceeds from the evening will be shared between both organizations to expand access to youth arts programming across Northwest Colorado — helping more young people discover confidence, connection, and healing through the arts.

Artist Spotlight – Jane Monheit

Internationally acclaimed jazz and adult contemporary vocalist Jane Monheit is celebrated for her luminous voice and deep devotion to the Great American Songbook. With more than two decades of global touring, twelve studio albums, and countless collaborations with legendary musicians, Jane has become one of the most beloved interpreters of American jazz standards.

Her musical journey began in childhood, studying woodwinds and piano, performing in award-winning choirs, and appearing in community theater on Long Island. At just 20 years old, while a senior at the prestigious Manhattan School of Music, Jane placed second in the renowned Thelonious Monk Competition (now the Hancock Competition), launching an extraordinary career almost overnight.

By age 22, she was performing and recording alongside jazz icons including Tommy Flanagan, Ron Carter, and Kenny Barron. Her artistry has since led to collaborations with Terence Blanchard, Ivan Lins, John Pizzarelli, Christian McBride, Vince Mendoza, and many others. She has appeared on major television programs including The Tonight Show, Good Morning America, CBS Sunday Morning, and The View, and her voice has been featured on notable film soundtracks such as Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow and Never Let Me Go.

Jane continues to perform at the world’s most celebrated venues — from Carnegie Hall to the Hollywood Bowl to legendary jazz clubs including the Village Vanguard and Birdland. In addition to touring, she mentors and educates students worldwide, sharing the artistry and discipline that have defined her remarkable career.

She lives in Los Angeles with her husband, drummer Rick Montalbano, and their son.
